Fall Colors

Some Fall color making it's way to the windows in Thornes Marketplace where our Northampton store is. The window designer did a great on this but one reason we wanted to show it off is our new busts in dark, red velvet that our talented assistant manager Nellie upholstered beautifully - and just in time for the change of season.

Summer Shoot

While it's undeniable that Summer is winding down - let's deny it. We were out enjoying the warm air a couple weeks back during a photo shoot at the Smith botanical gardens. An incredible spot & some lovely pictures as a result. These are primarily for an upcoming website update but thought we'd share some here..

Pop Up Shop Boston

We are pleased to be partnering with American Express & The Boston Marriott Long Wharf as part of their "Shop Small' initiative which brings local, small businesses directly to their guests. We were one of 8 hand selected businesses from the greater Boston area to participate. Proud to be a part of it & worth checking alone to discover all the other cool stores involved. Beautiful People

One of the best things about making handmade jewelry is all of the wonderful people we get to meet & work with along the way. Sometimes, these same wonderful people send us pictures of them wearing their beautiful new creations. The studio just finished an order for 94 pairs of our Garnet Knot Earrings for a wholesale client. Thought we'd share the labor of love with this image - all 188 stones hand selected to match!

New Antique Engagement Ring

Today we completed the restoration of this beautiful Victorian engagement ring that we purchased recently from one of our European antique dealers. It is a perfect example of a piece that can only be entirely handmade.  The crown setting is in 14kt white gold and holds an aprox. 1/4 ct diamond. The low bridge has beautiful rose cut bead-set diamonds embedded in it which gives this ring extra sparkle. Here is yet another reason to choose quality over size in a diamond. It is a one of a kind piece, as only an antique ring can be, fully restored to its original splendor. It will be making its way to one of our stores in the next few days and soon onto the hand of a very lucky lady! -RB

Gifts, Day 2

Day 2 of our gift feature brings us to a personal favorite, handmade oils from Amherst, Mass. These transcendant tinctures are made in very small batches by our dear friend Luisa, a registered nurse, herbalist & shiatsu practitioner. They are 100% natural & can be used anywhere on the body or even the hair. Blended with a base of Apricot Oil (high in Vitamins A & E to nourish the skin) the three varieties (Magic / Sleep / Flower) feature Vetiver, Bergamont, Lavender, Geranium & Rosewood oils, among others. At home we use these year round to keep our skin feeling healthy or dab some on the neck as a subtle perfume - they all smell so good. Packaged in lovely glass bottles with 22 carat hand painted scroll, they're made exclusively for our stores - you won't find them anywhere else!

Gifts, Day 1

Despite (or in spite of) yesterdays snowfall here in the Northeast, happy first day of Spring everyone! To kick off this new season & all that comes with it (holidays, graduations, weddings) we thought we would illuminate some of the gift items we offer in our stores. While it's true that we sell Diamond rings, we also curate a plethora of beautiful items that sell for well under $100. We start Day 1 with some of our own creations..

Register Earrings: When we opened the Northampton store Rebekah designed an entire line of earrings & necklaces that we placed next to the register at prices ideal for an impulse buy. The earrings have gone on to be best sellers & something we haven't yet offered on the website. These feature the same semi-precious gemstones of our regular line. The difference with these being that we don't make the findings ourselves so we can sell them for less. These start at $25 and go up to around $75, essentially wholesale prices! A steal for something that is handmade & of this quality.

Personalized Pendants: Another great gift item are these Pendant Necklaces we've started offering. There are a variety of simple discs to choose from that can be engraved with the intial(s) of your choice and, if you like, even accompanied by a small birth stone - ideal for a birthday or expectant mom. These have proven quite popular with partners for their wives as it's both thoughtful and personal, but yet so simple to conceive of! These start below $100 as well & are always a hit.

Engagement Rings, Day 2

Today we are featuring one of our own designs made specifically for a client. This is a handmade 14k Rose Gold band with a 14k Yellow scroll setting holding an Emerald Cut Ruby (!) adoringly flanked by two antique white diamonds on either side. While an Emerald Cut Ruby sounds like a contradiction in terms, what it delivers is something quite lovely - a large Ruby with beautiful color and translucency that both absorbs & refracts light equally. Our customer was very happy with this as were we! 

 

Engagement Rings, Day 1

Every day this week we're going to be featuring a different Engagement ring. Some will be antiques and a couple will showcase our own creations. We'll raise the bar high with this incredible early Deco Platinum & Diamond ring. Did someone say 'Bling'?! The center diamond is a full 3/4 carat with gorgeous side diamonds going down the stunning handwork on the band - all of which adds to the unmistakable sparkle of it. Part of what makes it so special is that it's simultaneously simple & ornate, just beautiful!

Vine Necklaces! And earrings, and bracelets. Long a staple of our line, these handmade ribbons of gems & color have been more popular than ever this season - so much so we've been having a hard time keeping them in stock. Emerald Engagement Rings

This super lucky (and very wonderful) couple got these two "matching-but-different" engagement rings made by us. They are both made with 14k White gold and have one flush set diamond on either side of a round Emerald. Congrats to this lovely couple, and thanks for bringing us into your happy day!!

Hand Beaded

Check out this new style that we are doing. The necklace is hand beaded with gold beads, pearls, topaz beads, all the same quality as our other jewelry (no glass, all precious metal and stones) and then the drop pendant is rutilated quartz with other smaller gemstones bundled at the top of the quartz. The pendant is secured to the necklace with a vermeil hook, making it easily detachable so you can just wear the strand of pearls and gemstones. Enjoy!
