Terrariums
Now that it's springtime, all I can do is think about plants of every kind. I can't walk past my garden without pruning, planting or weeding. I wanted to bring springtime inside our store so I made these terrariums this week out of antique apothecary jars. My daughter Hazy and I gathered different kinds of moss and stones in the woods and made little worlds inside by planting tiny ferns. I have always loved that a terrarium is a self sustaining environment that has a life of it's own. The moisture that forms on the glass adds to the atmosphere and mystery of what is inside.

COOKIE MAGAZINE 'Nesting' Blog
Our very good friend Brooke Williams is an artist, writer, dj & mom - to name just a few of things she excels at. In one of her many guises she contributes to Cookie Magazine's Nesting Blog. This month she interviewed Rebekah & exposed our home!
From Brooke: 'Just writing to let you all know (in case those modest Holyoke dwellers don't get around to it) that the converted church is having a moment in the sun on the Cookie website. I am so lucky to be the cool person who got to 'discover' them (at least as far as the world of fancy kids magazines goes).'
Thank You Brooke - Read about it HERE

Gardiner Museum Shop in Toronto
The Gardiner Museum in Toronto offers an intimate look at one of the world’s oldest and most universal forms of art and material culture—ceramics. The museum has undergone a major expansion of its gallery and studio spaces - it remains one of the city’s finest examples of modernist architecture. Their Gift Shop is also really nice & features a selection of our jewelry. Toronto based DESIGNLINES Magazine features it in their Spring 2009 Design Guide for the City - from them: 'Housed in the Gardiner Museum, this gift shop carries ceramics, glass, wood, and home accessories by both Canadian and international artists, such as New Hampshire native Rebekah Brooks, whose intricate beaded jewelry is sold here. Hand-blown glass objects from artists such as Kitchener's Renato Foti are also featured. Set your dinner table with Asian inspired ceramic tableware, and decorate it with colourful glass conversation pieces.'

If you're in LA in April...
We are very excited to be a part of Kim Gordon's Mirror/Dash curated Pop-Up Store at Space 15 Twenty in Los Angeles. Alongside Kim's new line for Urban Outfitters (Mirror/Dash) she hand picked artwork, music, books & a few select designers. Rebekah & Kim worked together to put together a great collection of new styles, along with some of our classics. If you can make the opening party it should be really fun - worth it alone to get to see Kim's personal Daryl K vintage collection!

Love is in the Air...
Ok maybe its just spring (and thank goodness for that). But there is something about the sunshine, the new plant life, even the afternoon thunderstorms that has me feeling a little romantic. Our kissing bird necklace captures just about everything I love about spring and summer. It looks perfect with jeans and a t-shirt, and adds a bohemian element to my sundresses. Plus I like the thought of wearing a little dose of summer lovin' around my neck. - Laura

Lumen by Adam Frank
Lumen is an original series designed by Adam Frank, an internationally recognized artist and inventor. Lumen throws a soft shadow on the wall when lit - as the flame flickers the shadow moves about organically. Made with stainless steel and a soft base to prevent scratching sensitive surfaces, Lumen is a great modern gift for any home or holiday!
