Liv & Matt

A really nice unsolicited note to our Cambridge manage from customers we worked with on their wedding jewelry. Honestly, beyond the creative side of what we do this is what makes it all worthwhile. The bride is beautiful, their wedding gorgeous - many thanks to them both for letting us share this!

'I wanted to send a long overdue thank you for the incredible work you and Rebekah put into my custom wedding earrings. They are absolutely beautiful, and a perfect family heirloom for us to treasure forever. I can't thank you enough (and so glad I didn't lose the diamonds!).'

'It means a lot for us to have things that are crafted with care and artistry and not mass-produced. I also want to emphasize what a tremendous experience you gave me on a limited budget. I felt as respected and valued as anyone paying ten times what I did, and that mattered enormously. Thank you for transforming our family diamonds, and for making me look and feel incredible!'

Kyra & Austin

We've seen a surge in Holiday engagements this year so seems like the perfect week for these beautiful photos from some great customers nice enough to share them with us.

' I hope you and everyone at Rebekah Brooks are enjoying this holiday season. I just wanted to send along a couple wedding photos that feature the gorgeous jewelry you helped us select for our big day. We could not be happier with how our rings and my necklace/earring set turned out--they complimented our entire theme perfectly!! '

Employee Profile : Sara

We're a young company that's like a small family - we work closely & diligently to better each other and our workplace because it feels great to care about what you do and who you do it with! Taking off from our customer profiles this is the first in a series of employee profiles - beginning with our very own regional manager, the lovely Sara..

1) What is your position at Rebekah Brooks, and what is your favorite part of your job?

I am our Regional Manager, which means that I oversee both stores, continue to educate and motivate our employees, and make sure everything runs smoothly. I assist in marketing, inventory selection, merchandising, hiring, social media, design, financials, and future planning. There are too many things that I love about my job to count, so I'll name three. First of all, I love the people I work with. It's really astounding how special each and every person in this company is. We are all incredibly supportive of one another, and I would call every individual my friend. Secondly, I love gemology. I've always had a keen interest in gems and minerals, but after learning so much by working in the field and getting my degree from the GIA alongside Rebekah, that interest has grown even more. There is an unlimited amount of knowledge to obtain! The fact that our Earth has the ability to create these beautiful and unique specimens is a phenomenon that fascinates me. Lastly, I love making people happy. Whether it's going that extra mile to reach out to a special customer when you come across the perfect piece for them, or helping design wedding bands that truly symbolize their commitment to one another - making people happy in that way is not something everyone has the pleasure of doing in their work.

2) What are you passionate about outside of work?

I guess you could say I am into extreme sports and music. I play a handful of instruments and enjoy seeing live music. My most recent obsession had been bluegrass. I enjoy any sport that involves being outside, whether it's rock climbing or snowboarding or hiking or wake-boarding, being outside is like my medicine. I enjoy being on a mountain or near a body of water, whatever the season! I am a true New Englander in that sense. Family is also majorly important to me.

3) What is your favorite jewelry era?

I love Art Nouveau. I love the floral and feminine motifs, and the constant reference to nature. I like it because there's a lot less Art Nouveau jewelry out there - it was a shorter era than others and it kind of overlapped with other eras, so it's a more specific style. I like enamel, Alfonse Mucha (an artist of that time) and the laced, delicate detail in Art Nouveau jewelry.

Children's Jewelry

If you frequent our stores or website you know about our ongoing obsession with antique jewelry, specifically the Victorian period. Though not all that long ago, people were much smaller! Often when buying we'll fall for a ring that will need to be considerably resized as it would now only fit on a child's finger. Sometimes though, we don't resize these things & add them to our collection of children's jewelry we offer in each store. These make great gifts as there's no better way to make a young girl feel special than to bestow upon her a beautiful ring, bracelet or antique locket.

Beautiful Ladies

Northampton is the diverse & bustling hub of our Happy Valley, and it's also a small town. We're always flattered to run into women wearing the jewelry, especially when they don't often know it was us who created their adornments. This weekend we were out shopping and then having dinner & kept running into beautiful women with lots of style who looked so great we just had to photograph them.

Happy Valentine's Day!

In case you don't get our newsletter, here is our latest missive illuminating some of the romantic symbolism of the Victorian jewelry we love along with a special earring promotion to help make that Valentine's gift undeniably perfect!

Can't make it to the store? Our Earring Promotion applies online with any Gift Certificate purchase. Just put in promo code VDAY when checking out, valid the 12th - 14th.
Let us help you find the perfect gift for that special someone!
This year give her a gift with meaning. In the Victorian era, symbolism was of particular importance in jewelry. Our store is filled with antiques and Victorian inspired designs with motifs such as the knot, the belt buckle, birds and snakes! We've got it all, check out some of the great options below & figure out which would best suit your beloved.
The knot is significant to many cultures, including the Victorians who saw it as a symbol of endless love. Our handmade knot pieces are showcased in gorgeous earrings, long necklaces or succinct bracelets.
In Victorian times, coral jewlery was thought to promote good health and longevity. These earrings from the late 1800's are natural coral in 14k yellow gold. They add a bit of flare to the evryday or can easily be dressed up for a night out. Timeless!
Prince Albert presented Queen Victoria with a snake ring upon announcement of their engagement. We love our snake ring for its intricate detailing and sentimental meaning of "separate but together". Available in the metal of your choice with the option of setting diamonds in the eyes!
This beautiful buckle ring in 14k yellow gold hails from the Victorian era. It has intricate hand engraving going around the ring which makes it truly unique. The buckle has long been valued for its associated sentimental meaning, the Victorians used it as a symbol of protection.
The swallow motif was a Victorian symbol for coming home, flying birds representing the soul. The kissing swallows necklace pairs perfectly with our swallow charm earrings, always a popular choice for the holiday.
This really sweet antique necklace boasts a 9k yellow gold heart and antique key charm. The heart is from the Edwardian era, a symbol of love and passion, and the key represents guardianship. Give the ultimate gift, the keys to your heart.
Amethyst: February Birthstone
Amethyst is a variety of quartz in a rich purple hue. Highly prized by ancient cultures, it is a stone that is believed to bring balance, patience and peace. We have an incredible 14k yellow gold Rose Amethyst ring from the Victorian era with intricate filigree work. Not to mention countless pieces from ourCome see it in person in our Northampton location!

12 Days of Gifts, Day 7

This what our studio looks like this time of year : jewlery everywhere, orders and envelopes strewn across desks - chaos reigns! But it's inspiring. We will be accepting orders thru Tuesday of next week & can offer overnight shipping so it arrives by the 24th - just make sure you call or email first before you place your order online so we can confirm we have stock..

Transformation

Things have been busy! As you can see from the pics below we've had a considerable upgrade in our Cambridge store - a beautiful new floor along with elegant new cases. When we opened two years ago we had inherited the existing displays and did our best to improvise & make things work. While they looked ok, lighting & proper presentation were an ongoing issue. No longer! These new custom fabricated cases have bright lights to illuminate every gem stone, engagement ring & antique on offer. Northampton has a new look as well which we'll show off soon once we get more pics - stop by & check it out for yourself!

Ch-Ch-Changes

We're very excited to share that both of our stores will be undergoing some exciting changes this week! Renovations will be happening in both shops resulting in new, improved & expanded displays. The short term downside is that we will have limited hours for some of the week. In Cambridge we are closing today at 3pm & won't re-open until Friday morning. In Northampton we will be open on Wednesday only from 10-12, then re-opening Thursday the 2nd. That said, the studio is active & working hard so if you need to pick up an order or have any questions we can be reached at studio@rebekahbrooks.com or by phone at 917.922.6628 and someone will get right back to you. Thanks for your understanding!

Dressed Up In Blue

The blue of our new windows in Cambridge mimic the hues of the ocean with umbrellas that bring a tranquil shade to the height of Summer. This display came out so beautifully! (* thanks to Zoe & Lindsay for the labor & love that went into it). Draped across the busts below are stands of Sapphires, drops of Blue Topaz & and shimmers of Aquamarine..
