Children's Jewelry

If you frequent our stores or website you know about our ongoing obsession with antique jewelry, specifically the Victorian period. Though not all that long ago, people were much smaller! Often when buying we'll fall for a ring that will need to be considerably resized as it would now only fit on a child's finger. Sometimes though, we don't resize these things & add them to our collection of children's jewelry we offer in each store. These make great gifts as there's no better way to make a young girl feel special than to bestow upon her a beautiful ring, bracelet or antique locket. 

 

 

 

Lockets

Often the most personal of adornments, a new batch of vintage lockets just came in. As they sat next to each other on a tray in the studio waiting to be revived, we couldn't help be struck by their gorgeous yet subtle variations of form & design. When the engravings, stones & enamels are all cleaned up they'll begin again - ready to acquire a new history.

Mourning Jewlery

It's the height of Summer - the sun is shining, the air is warm and here we are showcasing some beautiful Mourning Jewlery! Though there is always the possibility to view this genre as something dark it actually is about celebrating life, honoring love and (as many of the Victorians saw it) fashion. We covet alot of these period pieces & started picking up a few to test the waters in the stores and have been pleasantly surprised how many people share our enthusiasm for these unique ( &  collectible) beauties.

Love Is In The Air

Just in time for the coldest month of the year as the days begin to grow ever so slightly longer and brighter - love is in the air. Valentines Day is fast approaching and we wanted to showcase some inspiring finds that will make great gifts for a beloved or just for yourself. Here we have a Victorian locket that trumps all with it's 'I Love Only You' inscription. The front of the locket has some nice Champagne Paste Rhinestones set into 9ct pinstripe Rolled Gold. The pictures here show it as it came to us but we're cleaning it up & putting it on an 18" chain - it's going to be absolutely lovely! Antiques, Day 3

We've gotten a bunch of new (vintage) lockets we're working on getting into the shop in time for Valentine's Day. This one is really stunning & a rare find in this condition. It's Victorian with natural Turquoise set in Gold plate Sterling. Inside are two glass faced frames for pictures of your beloved!

Holiday Gift Ideas 2012

Holiday season is upon us and every week leading up to the holidays we will be featuring different gift ideas on our blog.

This week's item:  Lockets!  We have a variety of beautiful new and antique lockets, very reasonably priced, in sterling silver and 14K gold and gold fill.  Lockets have been around since the Victorian Era and make wonderful gifts.  They are especially unique and personal, as small photos or tokens can be placed inside!
