Beautiful snowy day here just in time to get everyone into the Holiday spirit! We are open in Cambridge & Northampton now, Charles St. will be open at noon - all three stores will be open late tonite - 8pm in Boston & Cambridge, 9pm in Northampton.

Holiday Web Orders & Delivery

Tis' the season - things are very busy in the studio. We're making jewelry & filling special orders like caffeinated elves! Our normal turnaround time for online orders is 7-14 days, with the Holidays upon us we're making exceptions. Web orders will be taken for delivery on the 24th up until Dec. 22nd. I realize it may appear we're falling behind here...and your right! But, it's only because we've been so busy in the physical world that our virtual efforts have been sidelined. Either way - it's Day 11. Can you believe it? Here we've got something that epitomizes all that we love about antique jewelry - original rose cut diamonds, antique turquoise, 14k white gold with handmade yellow gold earwires - totally one of a kind & they look incredible on.

12 Days of Gifts, Days 8-10

Almost..there. The weekend was action packed! (*so much so postings got delayed). To play catch up here's three days into one: from the top down we start with Onyx for Day 10. A bold & timeless look that pairs so well with silver or gold, a beautiful & safe bet. The hours are winding down toward the year's end and what better way to watch it go than with a hand blown hourglass. For Day 9 try pairing one with black sand with our Onyx teardrop earrings - just an idea (they also come with white sand). For Day 8 some gorgeous milk-glass hand painted cups. These are just two of a bunch of totally unique & beautiful hand painted pieces in our Northampton store - they make for great gifts.

This what our studio looks like this time of year : jewlery everywhere, orders and envelopes strewn across desks - chaos reigns! But it's inspiring. As we come into the final Holiday push don't forget we also offer gift certificates if, for some reason, you can't make it to the store or just can't decide online which piece is the perfect one. We will be accepting orders thru Tuesday of next week & can offer overnight shipping so it arrives by the 24th - just make sure you call or email first before you place your order online so we can confirm we have stock..

For Day 3 of our gift ideas we bring you the vintage clutch. We have a hard time holding onto these and if you've ever stalked them on ebay you'll know why - they're coveted & collectible. The old adage of 'they don't make things like they used to' applies here but, more importantly - this is a great gift because it's totally unique & accessorizes so well - instant style! In order to help you feel inspired with your Holiday gift giving we're presenting 12 Days of Gifts -  both here & on our facebook pages. What we're showcasing on the blog are specific pieces from the shop, things that are in some way special & that we think would light up anyone's face once unwrapped. To kick things off we've got this awesome Bulova watch that just came in. This is a gorgeous vintage time piece - 23 jewels, a gold front & stainless back with modern amenities such as being self winding & waterproof. A cool engraving on the back dates it 1956. Fully serviced it ticks along beautifully with a brand new leather band that suits it perfectly - get it while you can.

We may have lost count along the way but, nevertheless! Here we are at our final day of posts before we all tune to that universal holiday frequency where the rush of the world grows quiet at least for a day. If like me you still have a few people you either forgot or haven't found that perfect gift for - let us suggest our register earrings. What's old is new again - take brooches. These gorgeous emblems are badges of style. They may seem antiquated but in truth are significantly more modern than given credit for. Though less utilitarian than a necklace or earrings, they're no less useful in creating a splash. We've got a lovely collection - an all-seeing eye framed in pearls, a sterling spider, a basket of fruit set with precious stones, a cameo forged from lava! See what I mean - unique, daring & beautiful - just like you.

12 Days of Gifts, Day 9

Do you have a queen in your life? We've got just the thing! Cut Steel & Marcasite Jewelry. We've been slowly collecting some really nice examples of this. Cut-steel jewelry is jewelry 'set' with tiny faceted and polished steel studs, fashioned to resemble gemstones and usually riveted in place. The Swiss pioneered this process as early as the 1700's often using cut steel as a substitute for diamonds. Later Marcasite was introduced as it took a higher shine than the steel & didn't rust. These pieces are almost always made with Silver & the craft involved in making them was exceptional. We've got some gorgeous pieces from the Georgian era up to the Deco period. 

The Elves Are Fired, or, Day 8

This is what our studio desks look like this time of year. A festive sort of overwhelming mayhem where each day is a scramble to keep up. Not a bad feeling really as we're grateful to be busy crafting these sparkling labors of love. The morning of the 25th we always imagine people opening our boxes & the joy we hope it brings.
