Kaleidoscopic Jewels
Thanks for a great weekend! Our ring event was a big success. As a thanks here are some beautiful images NY Times photographer Marko Metzinger created while shooting still lifes of jewelry. From the T magazine blog: 'I began thinking about the way light was reflected and refracted through
the facets of the cut gems — and particularly about how it lent the
illusion of movement to these very inanimate objects'. Metzinger next
started exploring the construction of kaleidoscopes, in which loose
beads and pieces of glass reflect light through a series of mirrors to
make ceaselessly shifting patterns. 'As I began, the jewelry, which was
already a work of art itself, transformed into a moving masterpiece
that’s mesmerizing to watch as it emerges in an endlessly reflecting
pattern'.

Spring Windows at 17 Brattle
If this weekend didn't do enough to inspire a long-anticipated feeling of Spring then you should stop by our Cambridge store & peer into the windows! Our wonderful staff did an incredible job on the display. Credit goes to our assistant manager Zoe for making these beautiful, over-size paper flowers that have been stopping people in their tracks.

Ceiling Motif by Dresser

Rebekah & I saw this amazing retrospective of Christopher Dresser at the Cooper Hewitt in NY a few years ago. He was a designer and writer on design, now widely known as Britain’s first independent industrial designer and as a contributor to the Anglo-Japanese and Arts and Crafts movements. If we could this is what we'd have on the ceiling of our church. - Christian
