Winter Engagement
A couple of great customers from our Cambridge store who were nice enough to share some photos. We made & engraved a ring for them then strung it on a chain - seems to suit them perfectly. In their own words: 'As a man
trying to buy an engagement memento for another man, I was pretty much
at a loss. I wanted something traditional yet contemporary. Something
special but not flashy. Something simple but not boring. I didn't know
if I should get a ring or a necklace or a pendant or something totally
different. I really feel like I got the best of everything, and didn't
have to compromise for it.' Our thanks & a big congratulations to them both!

12 Days of Gifts, Day 4
What could be better than a holiday proposal?! And with this ring you could not go wrong. The show-stopper of our Northampton case - this incredible beauty has a center
1.35ct Old European cut diamond circa late 1800's, accented
with other small diamonds on the sides. The platinum setting is early
Art Deco with a wheat pattern intricately engraved on the sides
as well as on the setting, and accents of milgrain throughout the
entire piece. The engraving is in exquisite condition with little signs
of age and wear. The diamond specs: K color, SI1 clarity, 1.5tcw, Old
European Cut. This would make the perfect gift.

Engagement Rings, Day 4
Today we've got a gorgeous Victorian engagement ring produced in France during the late 1800's. It features a beautiful euro-cut diamond (just shy of 1/2 carat) with lots of brilliance & sparkle. The 14k Yellow Gold band has a nice, low crown setting with some lovely hand engraving and milgrain work on either side of the stone. Don't expect this one to be around too long..

Victorian Engraving
During the Victorian Era it was very common for rings to be inscribed on the inside with small sayings or expressions of love. These rings, known as "posey" rings were often used as symbols of engagement or as wedding bands. The 22K yellow gold posey ring featured below reads "Time Shall Tell I Love You Well."
