Emerald Spring

If there is one stone that evokes all the brightness & light of Spring it would have to be emeralds. We had two orders for large carat emerald engagement rings that are so beautiful we had to share them. The ring pictured at top features an incredible 2 ct (!) oval emerald alongside hand made diamond leaves at either side. The 14k yellow gold sets of the green brilliantly. The ring below is a 1 ct 'emerald cut' emerald in a hand made bezel alongside two sparkling antique diamonds. It featured a florentine finish which we hadn't gotten to yet when the picture was taken but..you get the idea. Stunning!

Kaleidoscopic Jewels

Thanks for a great weekend! Our ring event was a big success. As a thanks here are some beautiful images NY Times photographer Marko Metzinger created while shooting still lifes of jewelry. From the T magazine blog: 'I began thinking about the way light was reflected and refracted through the facets of the cut gems — and particularly about how it lent the illusion of movement to these very inanimate objects'. Metzinger next started exploring the construction of kaleidoscopes, in which loose beads and pieces of glass reflect light through a series of mirrors to make ceaselessly shifting patterns. 'As I began, the jewelry, which was already a work of art itself, transformed into a moving masterpiece that’s mesmerizing to watch as it emerges in an endlessly reflecting pattern'.
