Mistaken Identity
As many of you may, or may not have, taken notice of - the name Rebekah Brooks has lately been all over the NY Times, endlessly repeated on NPR, and shown up in countless other media outlets ad nauseum. The story of course revolves around British journalist & former newspaper editor Rebekah Brooks with (most unfortunately) the same name & spelling as our dear, beloved jeweler who owns this blog. While we hold this British journalist & her parent organization (News International) in absolute contempt for their despicable behavior we hope that a few of you who seem to be confused about who is who will gain clarity from this post & redirect any vitriolic mails to the applicable recipients : rmurdoch@newscorp.com. Thank You!

Victorian Lockets
Beginning in the mid to late 19th Century, the locket was one of the most popular items of jewelry. Wearers of lockets would put photos or even locks of hair of loved ones inside. During the Victorian and Edwardian periods, it was very common for lockets to have intricate monogrammed initials of the owner inscribed on the back. Some have a small diamond in the center, with an incised starburst pattern surrounding it, adding a beautiful sparkle. We are so fond of these lockets that we try to keep one on hand at the store at all times!
