Symbolism in Victorian Jewelry
Jewelry from the Victorian Era (1837-1900) contained symbols that expressed a sentiment or meaning that the wearer wanted to convey. Common motifs were flowers, hearts, animals, buckles and knots and each was a symbol for a broader, often sentimental meaning. The buckle was a symbol of the binding love between the giver and the wearer. Featured is our buckle ring, cast from an antique Victorian ring.
